The Klogie system monitors your servers and network infrastructure from off-site, just like your users. By monitoring your technology from outside your network, you see a more accurate picture of how that technology is performing.
The Klogie system uses an advanced poller to monitor the remote hosts. The poller uses a suite of plugins that can monitor TCP/UDP port availability, ICMP ping availability, and a large number of SNMP data sources. Available services are probed from the remote host and users can configure specific control limits for these poller values. When probed values exceed the control limits, the system will generate alerts to the monitoring users, so they are made aware of the error condition.
All configuration of monitoring for the hosts enabled in the Klogie system is performed via the web interface. Users can designate the services they wish to monitor, view graphs, monitor error logs, and update their notification preferences from the user interface.
The Klogie system provides both user and admin access roles for the users of the system, so some users are locked into a view-only mode, while other are able to update the site's monitoring configuration.
